Publicity and Partnerships Executive

Madman Entertainment are looking for a publicity/communications professional to work within the theatrical marketing team, within the Film & TV squad of Madman Entertainment.

We are seeking someone with at least 2-3 years experience in publicity/communications in the arts, entertainment or related industries. Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will be responsible for implementing communications strategies that raise awareness of Madman’s cinema releases to relevant audiences.

You will work closely with a talented internal group of marketers, sales professionals and an in-house creative team, as well as liaising and collaborating with external agencies. You will encounter the challenges and rewarding nature of working closely with remarkable content, and have the opportunity to implement a range of varied campaigns. As a small team, the following list of key responsibilities is an indication of your role, however we work in a dynamic and flexible environment where all team members contribute and are exposed to the full spectrum of distribution activity.



  • Plan and implement publicity and promotional activity for Madman theatrical releases, in line with marketing strategy
  • Work closely with external publicity agencies to achieve campaign goals
  • Develop ongoing partnerships with external brands and media organisations
  • Plan and manage events including pre-release screenings and press tours
  • Create and distribute key materials to internal stakeholders, media and external agencies
  • Conduct regular analysis of the media and competitive landscape
  • Manage invoices and coding of marketing related expenditure
  • General administrative duties relating to marketing campaigns



  • 2-3 years of publicity/communications experience
  • Experience or direct exposure to arts/entertainment industry
  • Experience working on events
  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or related field



  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Comfortable dealing with a variety of stakeholders at different levels, internal and external
  • Is a problem solver and able to work independently to manage projects
  • Is comfortable with work outside regular hours
  • Has excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Is personable and enjoys a team environment
  • Remains calm under high pressure situations
